THE JERSEY SHORE WOMAN'S CLUB

HISTORY
Our club was founded in 19xxx by a group of ladies who live along the Atlantic Ocean coast At one point there was an Ocean Grove club which was blended into the Jersey Shore Woman’s Club. Approximately 65 ladies now devote their time and money to worthy causes in many area communities. We have ladies who live from Ocean Grove, to Belmar, to Ocean, to Sea Girt, etc., which is why we do not have the name of a specific town as our name.

CURRENT MEETINGS
We meet on the first Thursday of the month from September to May, while the last meeting is a formal luncheon at a restaurant. Most meetings are held at the First Methodist Church on Monmouth Road in Oakhurst. The church has full kitchen facilities, a stage, folding chairs (which are set up by the church custodian), folding tables, and a lectern with microphone.
The meeting officially begins at Noon, however some of us start earlier to set up for lunch. Lunch is donated every month by different members. The lunch committee (which varies) provides tea sandwiches, dessert, coffee, and tea. Personally, my favorite is shrimp salad.
The meeting begins at about 1 PM when the president calls us to order to begin the business part of the meeting. The secretary has a format to use to write the information in a certain order. The format is on the official Federation website.
