GFWC Project & Programs

The General Federation of Women's Clubs (GFWC) work in six main community service programs. GFWC programs and projects focus on the major issues of our time—supporting women’s health, preserving natural resources, promoting literacy and equality, and encouraging volunteer service—and fall into the following areas of focus:

•    Arts
•    Conservation
•    Education
•    Home Life
•    International Outreach
•    Public Issues

In addition to the above program areas, GFWC fosters projects related to Special Programs. These Special Programs enable clubwomen to expand their knowledge and skills, contribute to GFWC's national programs, and be recognized for their achievements.

Current Special Projects include:

•    Juniors’ Special Project: Advocates for Children
•    Communications and Public Relations Program
•    Domestic Violence Awareness Program
•    Fundraising Program
•    Leadership Program
•    Legislation and Public Policy Program
•    Membership Program
•    Women’s History and Resource Center Program

Ongoing and new contests for GFWC clubs and members:

•    Community Improvement Contest
•    Club Newsletter Contest
•    Jennie Award
•    Website Contest
